Design: All Fitness Edge products are CAD (Computer Aided Design) Crafted and drawn. This level of engineering allows each piece of equipment to hold up to the most demanding facilities. Each user-friendly piece of equipment is designed for function, durability, safety and value.
Frames and Finish: Each frame is chemically treated with high pressure, high temperature phosphate to eliminate corrosion and optimize adhesion. Skillfully applied electrostatic powder coat paint ensures durability and finish. Frames are primarily constructed from 2 x 2 inch, or 2 x 3 inch 11-gauge (.120 Wall) and 7-gauge (.188 wall) A-36 structural steel tubing. Every weld is .035 MIG welded.
Upholstery: 34 oz per linear yard marine grade vinyl (resists mold and mildew) that is backed with 4 oz per linear yard polyester and anchored using staples.
Padding: 2 inch thick high density (90 indention force deflection 1.75 density) polyfoam padding. The foam is glued to a 3/4 inch plywood backing that features metal T-nuts.
Cables and Pulleys: 4000 lb 1/4 inch nylon coated black commercial grade aircraft cable, and 4 inch to 6 inch diameter fiberglass impregnated nylon pulley's with sealed friction free precision ball bearings.
Guide Rods and Weight Stacks: 1 inch solid steel chrome guide rods, and steel composite precision machined weight stacks with black powder coat finish make these some of the toughest and smoothest stacks today. Featuring pressed in bushings, a magnetic pin attached to a shock cord.
Linear Bearings-Rods and Pivot Points: 1 inch closed precision ball bearing with a low coefficient of friction. (IPS) Heat treated alloy steel shell. Case hardened steel alloy guide rods. Flanged mount rotary bearings or sleeve bearings utilizing either oil impregnated bronze bushings or pre-lubricated nylon bushings.
Cosmetic Protection: All seat adjustment, guides, chin up bars, weight storage and weight horns and chromed. 2 inch 3M protective stripping on all bar contact points.
